................................... Dr. James Hopkins

Dr. James Hopkins is a graduate of Ohio State University and the Western University of the Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He received his training in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center, and then completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Oakland Children's Hospital. He was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1994, and board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine in 1998. He has practiced at Children's Hospital of Central California (formerly Valley Children's Hospital) since 1995 where he maintains an academic appointment at the University of California - San Francisco. Dr. Hopkins is also on staff at Children's Hospital of Oakland as well as the Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo. He has published numerous research articles in the Pediatric and Nuclear Medicine literature.

Jim is married and has two children.

Dr. Sapien is a graduate of the University of New Mexico where he received both his Bachelors and M.D. degrees. He received his training in Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and then completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center. He was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1990, and in 1996 board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He then returned to his native New Mexico where he established the first Pediatric Emergency Department in the state. He is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, and Medical Director of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Sapien is recognized nationally as an expert in pediatric asthma care and injury prevention. He has published numerous research articles in the Pediatric literature.
